Annual Highway Clean Up
As you reach the edge of the mountains we hope that all you notice is how awesome the scenery looks. You may even notice our Lions Club mentioned on a highway sign there and you probably won't even think about is that the ditches are clear of all garbage.
In cooperation with the Alberta Transportation Highway Cleanup Program and the Deadman's Flats Community Association each early May we do a work party to collect all unnatural debris along the roadway and leave it bagged at the side of the highway to be cleared away. The only thing better than a walk in the mountains is one where you get to get to make a positive contribution to our natural world.
Trunk and Treat
Trunk and Treat
Our Lions Club coordinates some spooky good fun involving more sugar than a small body should reasonably consume. One evening in October our Lion Mascot and other costumed characters will be in Spring Creek Village with decorated vehicles laden with candy. So bring down your little boils and ghouls (kids) to get their share of the Halloween candy. This event is run with assistance and donations from many of Canmore's civic minded businesses and individuals.
Annual Rotary Club of Canmore Festival of Trees
Each November our members join a large portion of the Canmore business and Service community in the Yuletide pastime of decorating a Christmas tree in the lobby of the Malcolm Hotel for display throughout December. We try our best to create the most beautiful tree in a manner that reflects some aspects of our service to our community. Even if we aren't judged to be the most spectacular tree in Canmore we are contributing to this Rotary Club Fundraiser
